The Center for International Studies does not charge for its services in preparing you for studying for a full degree at one of our partner institutions, therefore you will be responsible for paying only the direct fees charged by the university you attend. Unlike U.S. institutions, overseas universities charge different fees for different programs. An example would be that if you are interested in a program in the Humanities you would probably pay less than in the Sciences where lab expenses would be included. |

Auckland, with a population of 1.2 million, is the country's largest city and is located in the north of New Zealand's North Island. Known also as the "City of Sails", it occupies a narrow isthmus between two stunning harbors and is a paradise for the city's thousands of sailing and fishing enthusiasts. This isthmus is actually an ancient volcanic plateau, thus the city is dotted with extinct volcanic cones. Most of these cones are now municipal parks, but many once served as fortified settlements for the various tribes of New Zealand's indigenous people, the Maori. |

When you arrive in Auckland you will be met at the airport and transported to the campus if you have signed up for the airport pickup service. You should plan to arrive a week before classes start and during that time you will be introduced to the university through a three day practical and social orientation. Once classes begin, an optional two-day academic orientation is offered to assist you with academic related questions that might have arisen.
