Overlooking the valley and surrounded by the beautiful Swiss Alps, Les Roches is located in Bluche, a charming village, a few minutes drive from the famous resort of Crans-Montana. Our international students (over 60 nationalities) live in comfortable residences spread throughout Bluche and a few minutes walk from the main campus. Facilities offered include a fitness center, tennis and basketball courts, soccer field, outdoor swimming pool and many other winter and summer activities whether indoor or outdoor.

Academic Programs

For over 25 years, Les Roches has been offering a learning environment which combines sound academic experience with innovative use of craft-based learning (practice) that shapes and open students' mind and attitude as well as prepares them to face complex new professional situations with rigour and innovation. Our numerous undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs answer the needs of an industry in constant evolution and provide students with a sound basis to enter the fastest growing industry in the world. Les Roches is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (USA), and the Diploma program is recognized by the Swiss Hotel Association, the body that rates hotels in Switzerland.

All courses are taught in English and there are two entries per year, the first in January or February depending on the program, and the second in July or August.

Tuition

The Center for International Studies does not charge for its services in preparing you for studying for a full degree at one of our partner institutions, therefore you will be responsible for paying only the direct fees charged by the university you attend. Unlike U.S. institutions, overseas universities charge different fees for different programs.

The fees include such services as tuition, full board, accommodation, accident insurance, leisure and sports facilities and activities, laundry and ironing of professional clothing, administration costs, taxes, administration charges for visa and work permit, professional orientation programme and advice, etc.

Tuition amounts vary considerably but a range for an undergraduate degree are an estimated to be $US 22,000 a year which includes, tution, room, and board. Graduate fees are an estimated $US 35,000 (1.5 years). When you request information on a particular university a fee schedule will be provided by CIS. In addition to the tuition fees, you will want to be prepared for the other costs associated with traveling abroad such as travel expenses, meals (if you are not on a meal plan), local transportation, spending money, etc.

Studying in Bluche/ Crans Montana

Bluche is a small village at 1200 meters above sea level, a few minutes drive from the famous ski and Alpine resort of Crans Montana. Crans-Montana situated in the heart of the Alps at an altitude of 1500m is a modern and fashionable resort set on a handsome plateau where the air is said to be “lighter than champagne.”

The resort is composed of two village hearts, Crans which is where most of the shopping is located and Montana where sports and other activities are located. In summer golfing, hiking and mountain biking and many other sports can be enjoyed. Winter offers skiing, winter sports and splendid winter walks. Crans Montana is a second residence to many famous celebrities and diplomats.

Student Life

Our international students, representing more than 65 nationalities, live in comfortable residences spread throughout Bluche and a few minutes walk from the main campus. Students can benefit from great sport facilities namely a fitness centre, tennis and basketball courts, soccer field, outdoor swimming pool and many other winter and summer activities whether indoor or outdoor.

Students enjoy an active social life on campus as well as outside the campus. Each semester they prepare a large event with a full set of activities organised and presented by them, including songs, dances, arts from various parts of the world, as well as plenty of food specialties from the four corners of the world.

Accommodation

Students are housed in large and comfortable bedrooms either on campus or in residences scattered around the village and within a very short walk to the academic facilities. Generally, they will share double rooms, which are included in the fees, but single rooms are available for an additional fee. All the rooms are well designed and furnished and most of them have their own en-suite bathroom with shower as well as internet access.
