SEARCH FOR YOUR DEGREE

Finding a degree program abroad that meets your personal, professional and academic goals may seem like a daunting task. CIS tries to make this process as straightforward and manageable as possible by providing you with several ways of searching for your degree on our Web site.

Getting Started

Below you will find listed the different search methods this Web site offers. To begin, we recommend that you first read over the list of most commonly requested degree searches to see if yours is included. If the degree you are looking for is not on this list, please use the Degree Search Engine or visit the online prospectuses of our affiliate universities using the list of the direct links to these prospectuses. If you know the specific country you are interested in, you can also click on that country above to learn more about our partner universities in those countries.
  1. Most commonly requested degrees - We recommend that you begin here as this section includes a list of the degrees most commonly requested by prospective students we work with. For each degree you will find a list of CIS's partner universities that offer a degree program in this academic area and links to the department's webpage.

  2. Degree Search Engine - This option allows you to search our online degree data base by country, level of study, academic area, university, or any combination of these to find your degree.

  3. Direct links to the degree listings for all of our partner universities - These provide lists of the degrees offered at these universities.

  4. Click on the country names above to learn more about the schools we work with in those countries and the programs that they offer.

Each of these methods aims to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. However, each method alone may not be completely exhaustive. We therefore encourage you to use them in combination to find a program that meets your goals.

If you still have not found the degree you are looking for after using all of the above methods, please contact us and we will discuss other alternatives for finding the degree program you are interested in.

Once you have found the specific courses to which you would like to apply, please email CIS with the course name and/or description as it is listed on each university's online prospectus. We will then send you all of the application information and prospectus materials you will need for up to 2 universities. Along with your packet, we will include a list of application tips and guide.

Please remember to narrow your choice to two schools.

Terminology

As you conduct your search, here are some differences in terminology that may be helpful to know.

Degrees: Degrees are sometimes referred to as “courses” and what we refer to as “classes” or “courses” are many times referred to as modules or subjects.

Degree Terminology: Some degrees at our partner institutions have slightly different titles, or the same title with a different meaning. For example, Physical Therapy is Physiotherapy and Communication Studies usually refers to Media Studies. Therefore, if you are not finding the degree you are interested in, check to see if it is listed under a different name.

Types of degrees: doctoral and master's degrees are the equivalent to those in the U.S. , but most of our partner institutions also have postgraduate diplomas and certificates, which are not as common in the U.S. Click here to find out more about these degrees.
