SCHOLARSHIPS
 

While the cost of studying for a degree at a foreign university can be offset by U.S. government financial aid, many students are also interested in other types of assistance, namely scholarships and grants. Read below for more details...


 

There are scholarship programs that are open to all degree students, such as the Rotary Foundation's Ambassadorial Scholarships or BUTEX.

Additionally, some of the universities that CIS represents have their own scholarship programs and are as follows:

Bond University, Australia
Bond offers various merit-based scholarships ranging from 10-50% of the full tuition cost of the program. To apply you must send in a request for scholarship with your application for admission form. Additionally the the Faculty of Business, Technology, and Sustainable Development are offering substantial scholarships for certain MA degress. Click here to download the scholarship flyer. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Bond University is offering two scholarships covering 25% of tuition at the undergraduate level and two scholarships covering 25% of tuition at the postgraduate level. Please note these Faculty scholarships are based on academic merit and open to students with a minimum 3.5GPA (out of a 4.0 scale). The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is also offering 5 x $1000 “Cost of Living Scholarships” to students earning their undergraduat or postgraduate degree at Bond University.

Macquarie University, Australia
Macquarie offers a scholarship to postgraduate international students. These awards are open to all qualified students in the nominated Research Area or Center of Excellence. Successful applicants will have at least a four-year bachelors degree or equivalent with a high level of achievement or else provide strong evidence of equivalent achievement. Murdoch University, Australia
Murdoch University is a member of the International Center of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Management (THE-ICE). This year, as one of the members, Murdoch University, offers the following programs to which scholarships apply: BA Tourism; BA Tourism in Hospitality and Tourism Management; Bachelor of Commerce (Hospitality and Tourism Management); Bachelor of Ecotourism; Masters of Arts (indigenous tourism, nature0based tourism, sustainable tourism or tourism by policy and planning). University of Sunderland, England
Sunderland grants eligible accepted applicants a "bursary" (tuition grant) of up to one thousand British Pounds. Bursaries are automatically sent out to all accepted applicants. Find out more about University of Sunderland.

University of Westminster, England
The University of Westminster is accepting applications from U.S. students who are holding an offer on a full-time Masters programme for the following scholarships :

Full scholarships (accommodation, tuition and subsistence included):
- Media, Arts and Design scholarship
- Master in Public Health scholarship
- MA Tourism Management scholarship

Full tuition fee waivers (all school fees covered):
- MA Diplomatic Studies
- MA European Studies
- Media, Arts and Design (any course within this school)
- MA Public Communication and Public Relations
- Westminster Business school (any course within this school)

Partial Tuition fee waivers (50% discount on school fees):
- MA Photojournalism or MA Photographic Studies
- MA English Lit
- Media, Arts and Design (any course within this school)
- Westminster Business school (any course within this school)

Roehampton University, England
Roehampton offers one (1) $1,000.00 per year merit based scholarship applicable towards any master's degree. You must have been accepted by Roehampton to be considered. Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships
Academic year, Multi-year (two or three years of degree oriented study), and Cultural scholarships (three to six months of language study) are available in varying amounts for students who will have completed at least two years of coursework when the scholarship begins. Availability and types of Rotary Scholarships are determined by each Rotary district and vary from year to year. Interested applicants can click here for more information.

BUTEX Scholarship For International Students
BUTEX offers a limited number of scholarships for students currently registered at an institution in the USA or Canada for the academic year. To be eligible to apply you must have been offered a place as a study abroad student at a UK university which is a member of BUTEX (all CIS partner institutions in the UK are members). Applications must be made using the Application Form available on the BUTEX website and you will be required to supply a 600 word statement indicating how you would benefit from the scholarship.
